TCI LIMITED - SENTINEL

When TCI Limited wanted a system for measuring the Grade Of Service of the TETRA radio system being rolled out for the UK Police, Hidalgo:

• developed the Sentinel Logging Unit for making the field measurements; this consists of a TETRA mobile radio, Arcom SBC-GX1 single board computer running embedded Linux, V.92 modem for passing measurement logs to a central server, and custom PCB for power distribution, interfacing and control
• developed an application in Java for the Sentinel Logging Unit that controls the mobile radio, places test calls and makes the timing measurements
• developed the Sentinel Server that collects measurement logs from Sentinel Logging units in the field, uploads the measurements into a database, analyses the data and automatically produces monthly Grade Of Service measurement reports for TCI's customers
• manufactured the Sentinel Logging Units in low volume.
